Delete your Blackboard account
Blackboard by corporation1 · Last updated 15 October 2026
You can delete your Blackboard account and its data at any time, either in the app or by emailing us. You don't need to keep the app installed to ask.
Option 1: in the app (fastest)
- Open Blackboard and go to Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete my account and confirm.
- If you're the only admin of a shared household, Blackboard will ask you to make someone else an admin first (swipe left on their name in Settings), or you can delete that household for everyone.
Deletion happens straight away.
Option 2: by email
Email privacy@corporation1.org with the subject "Delete my Blackboard account", from the email address you signed in with (or tell us which sign-in method you used). We may ask you to confirm the request so we don't delete someone else's account. We'll complete the deletion within 30 days and reply to confirm.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in account, including your account ID and email address.
- Your membership of every shared household and trip.
- Households and trips where you were the last member, together with everything in them: board, calendar, lists, chores, expenses, payments and stays.
- Your PayNow number and your entries on the board in those households.
What is kept, and for how long
- Shared records in households other people still use. Expenses and payments you recorded stay in that household's history, with your name, so everyone else's balances still add up. They're kept until an admin deletes them or the household is deleted. If you'd like your name taken off them, say so in your email and we'll help.
- Data on your own phone, such as demo households or households you never synced, isn't stored by us. Deleting the app removes it.
- Backups and logs. Copies in our service provider's routine backups and security logs are removed automatically on their normal cycle, usually within 30 days.
